What is the Health Benefits for Tiger Nut?

Milk from this nut is nutritious, does not contain lactose, is rich in calcium and other nutrients. These small nuts contain a large number of minerals useful and necessary for the human body. Vitamins C and E, acting as antioxidants, help to fight the oxidative action of free radicals, reduce cholesterol.

This milk (if you do not add sugar) contains fewer calories than any carbonated drink, but perfectly quenches thirst. The presence of carbohydrates makes it a tasty and healthy source of energy. Amino acids and starches improve the digestive system, help adsorb carbohydrates and fats. Milk has a mild diuretic effect and prevents diarrhea.

Tiger nuts are an ideal choice for people with heart diseases and diabetes, as they contain a large amount of fiber, fatty acids, and vitamins. The tiger nuts can be an excellent source of replenishing nutrients for vegetarians, during fasting.

It is very important to prepare such a drink. The tiger drink bottled and sold in stores can contain a lot of sugar and other little useful, and sometimes not very harmless, ingredients.

Want to make a delicious ice cream from such vegetable milk? No problem, just freeze it! There so many options, which one will you choose?

Start to Make Millions: Small Chops Business

What You Need To Start Small Chop Business in Nigeria

You’ll need basic cooking tools used for cooking at large quantities. Basically almost all the kitchen utensils in your kitchen you use for cooking but in bigger sizes.

  • Big frying pans
  • Bowls
  • Trays
  • Egg mixer
  • Steel dish
  • Sieve
  • Turning stick (omorogun)
  • Greater
  • Tongs

And so on.

The list all depends on you. You can remove from it to reduce the cost spent on capital and you can add to it just do what is comfortable for you.

As for my opinion on getting a shop, I don’t think you need that on starting out the business.

From what I’ve seen from the people already in the business operating your catering business from home right from your kitchen or compound (if it is neat) is always the best.

Location is not the most important thing. It is how well you can deliver and how fast.

Instead of looking for funds to get a shop rather create social media campaigns to advertise and make beautiful complimentary cards for the small chops business you can give to customers especially people who don’t know what you do.

I’ll talk about this later in the article.

How Lucrative is Small Chops Business?

Seriously, this is always the question on every Nigerians’ mind when it comes to starting businesses in Nigeria. And this is a good question because we all know the major reason for starting a business is to make profits.

Massive profits!

If a business is not making money no matter the energy put into it, it is regarded as a total waste of time.

So the Question on whether small chops is business in Nigeria is lucrative or not is obvious from the early explanations I’ve given so far. Yes, small chops business is a lucrative business because you are supplying to groups of people at once (weddings, birthday, concerts and so on).

The higher the number of guests required for you to prepare for the higher the profits you make.

Let’s say you have a contract to make small chops for 1000 guests and you charge max N400 per plate you will be making N400,000. This might not necessarily be a huge profit because you have not deducted your expenses but still it is a big profit.

Also, the demand for small chops for 1000 guest will help you buy your ingredients at wholesale and when you buy in wholesale you make more profit because the ingredients are cheaper, unlike buying from the usual retailers.

So you see here the more guests you have to make for the more profits for you in every way and more gain for the buyer because you can be able to give discounts (as much as you feel you need to).

Also, you can still make good money from small chops business even if you are making for 20 people or less as you’re just starting out. All you have to do is still buy your ingredients in bulk, make your small chops very delicious and give good prices to your customers that they will always have to come back.

And more.

How to Start Small Chops Business in Nigeria

1. Learn

Small chops business in Nigeria is one of the businesses you can’t start without prior expertise according to what I’ve heard from those already in the business.

Every boss in the business today started as a servant.

Asides from the fact that you can learn how to make some of the snacks by watching videos on YouTube, you still need to learn how to make the difficult ones like spring rolls and gizdodo from someone who makes it well (a professional).

Taste is another factor and it’s one of the things you can never learn through YouTube because it’s a marketing secret. So you need to learn how to make the snacks from professionals, how to package them and serve them.

All these play a vital role in the success of the business.

2. Buy Your Cooking Equipment

After learning how to make snacks for the small chops business, the next stage is to buy your cooking equipment to start.

It’s not necessary you buy the expensive ones now. You can buy the cheap equipment first then as time goes by you can buy the expensive ones.

I would have asked you to rent the equipment if you know you cannot afford new equipment but this will slow your business in the sense that the equipment might not be available for rent anytime you need them and besides renting is more expensive in the long run so the best thing here is to buy your own.

3. Advertise

I talked a bit about advertisement in the introduction but I feel I still need to give you more ideas on how to go about it.

There are 2 major forms of advertisements. We have; online advertisement and offline advertisement and both are important as regards this business. For the online you’ll need to create a page for your small chops business on Instagram.

Adverts of food and clothing tend to turn followers into customers on Instagram faster than facebook and twitter combined. You can start small by just posting pictures of your freshly made snacks and has time goes buy you can do paid adverts to increase your followership, reach and brand influence.

Also, reach out to food bloggers and try to form a bond (good relationship) with them. You never know as time goes by they may send customers to you.

For the offline adverts, you need to make attractive complimentary cards you can give to people and customers. You can start with just making 1000 copies then as time goes by, if there’s the need to make more you can.

4. Get Your First Customer

In starting any business in Nigeria getting your first customer is always the most difficult tasks but there is a way you can do this with ease and these is by making samples of your small chops and supply them to those you know are likely to patronize you.

Give these samples of small chops to influential people in different fields so these people will influence their subordinates to patronize you.

Also, make sure the sample is the best in terms of taste and looks (looking tantalizing).

And after getting your first customer you might need to consider giving huge discounts to make it easy for them to patronize you easily.

Remember the woman customer I talked about at the early of this article? She gave discounts to us because it was our first time doing business with us.

5. Supply Your First Order

When you finally win and get your first order do not take it for granted even if the guests you are making for are small it is still a big deal because if done well those small guests can refer you to big guests.

Make sure you put in every detail when you’re supplying this order and make sure everything is perfect. Deliver on time and also be ready to part with your complimentary cards at the venue (as many as possible).

The technique I’ve seen used times without number by many small chop company is glueing their complimentary cards to each plate of small chops delivered.

So that all guests can get their cards in case they liked what they ate and want delivery in future. You can apply this too to reach more customers.

Small chops business in Nigeria is a business that needs patience and time. If you’re really passionate about it go into it and you’ll see with time you’ll thank God you did. It’s not a business only for women, men too do it.

How To Start Fruit Juice Production Company In Nigeria

Fruit juice production business in Nigeria is liken to Sachet pure water production business, you can’t go wrong with it. The reason being that Nigeria is one of the highest consumers of fruit juice in the world coupled with being the biggest market in the African continent. A very good investment in fruit juice production in Nigeria will yield threefold of returns on investment within a short period of time.

50% of the more than 150 million population consume fruit juice on daily basis.

No wonder companies like Chivita, Coca Cola, UAC, Leventis Foods, and others have been thriving in the business and making billions of dollars unannounced.

What Is Needed In Canned Or Bottled Fruit Juice Production

The fruit juice production is capital intensive but worth every penny of your investment. The good news is that there is still provision to start small and explore new frontier. Farmed fruits such as Pawpaw are not yet being commercially processed into fruit juice in Nigeria, leading to the wastage of this valuable and nutrition farm produce. This could be a new business opportunity for any entrepreneur who wish to invest in fruit juice production in Nigeria to bring new value.

Pick up the type of fruit juice you want to produce. It could be a Pawpaw base fruit juice as I mentioned above. You may choose every fruit juice drink or carbonated drink similar to La Casera. Anything quality will do for Nigeria, we just love drinks – simple but quality soft drinks.

Your business plan should focus on the aspect or type of fruit juice you have chosen to produce. Make your business plan as detailed and thorough as possible especially if you are going to present it to financiers. Include comprehensive details about the type of fruit juice you want to produce; three-year operating expenses; three-year profit projections; marketing and public relations strategies; analysis of competing fruit juice manufacturers; information about potential vendors and selling avenues.

Like I said earlier, I would recommend you go for flavors that are not very common in the Nigerian market yet. A completely different variety of fruit juice will give you added advantage and win new customers for your brand with such an incentive to patronize your product.

NAFDAC Approval is very important, you need to have this before engaging in the commercial production of any food, drugs, and beverages. Approach NAFDAC after you have successfully setup your fruit juice production plant, produce few bottles and take it to them for final approval. You must begin this process well ahead of time

Required Machinery For Fruit Juice Production

What really is a fruit juice? A fruit juice can be described as suspension of water, sugars (manly: glucose – fructose – sucrose), acids, essences, vitamins, proteins, minerals, pigments and pectic-substances. So its not just the squeezed fruit directly into a bottle, it has to go through the process of extractions, mixing, preparation, bottling, and packaging.

The sample machine above should give idea of what is required to setup a fruit juice production plant. Its really capital demanding but you can start small as I mentioned earlier even though nothing is small in this business.

The Most Common Semi – Finished Products
Puree’ single strength or concentrate
Cloudy or pulpy juices single strength or concentrate (which contain insoluble solid particles)
Clear juice single strength or concentrate (without the insoluble substances)
The technological cycle has to be developed in order to preserve as much as possible the organoleptic properties, the colour and aromas of the fresh fruit juice. So especially the thermal treatments, which are necessary either to get a god yield in some steps of the process, or to have microbial stability, must be carefully evaluated just to avoid browning phenomena and vitamins and proteins degradation. This treatment varies depending on the fruit PH. The presence of organic acids such as citric, malic, and tartaric acid, depending on the kind of fruit, is responsible for the low PH value (1,5-4,5). The thermal cycle is always a combination of temperature value and holding time.

The contact with the air can be dangerous for fruits sensitive to oxidation, so, in some cases, it could be necessary to carry out some steps of the process in controlled atmosphere or provide deaeration system before the product packaging.

Pectic Substances Are Also Very Important
For cloudy fruit juices or fruit puree it is essential that the original content of pectins be retained throughout the production. In this case fruit enzymes must be inactivated during processing as soon as possible by heating process.

For clear, filtered fruit juices a breakdown of pectins is needed to enable a good yield and high degree of juice concentration, and this is done by adding specific pectolytic enzymes which hydrolise the pectic substances.

To obtain clear fruit juice the enzymation is not the only steps required, but after that other phases such us sedimentation with fining agents (gelatin – bentonite.), and filtration (by vacuum and ultrafiltration) are required.

As we said above all the semi-finished product can be single strength or concentrated.

With the evaporation process, taking out part of the water from the fruit, the juice concentrates can be considered as concentrated sugar-acid solution. Considering this and the low PH of the fruit juice the puree and juices concentrates are not a suitable substrates for bacteria potentially dangerous for human health.

Basically There Two System For The Fruit Juice Concentration
The puree and pulpy juices are concentrated by a forced circulation evaporators where the product is forced by appropriate centrifugal circulation pumps to go through tubular heat exchangers to be heated in order to release in a evaporation chamber the water vapors.

The evaporator is a under vacuum multiple effect system where the vapors generated in one effect are used in the next one the heath the product and making new vapors, this happen starting from the highest temperature allowed for the product going towards the lowest which is normally around 42-45°C. The system has also the advantage of a considerable reduction of the live steam consumption.

For clear juice the evaporator is always a multiple effect but the so called “falling film type” where the product flow rapidly in a thin film along the wall of vertical heat exchanger heated in the shell by the vapors coming from the previous effect. The advantage is that the heating is very quick and the residence time in the evaporator is shorter than the one in the forced circulation type, so that there is a better preserving of the product quality.

Connected with the evaporation process there is the possibility of retaining the fruit volatile aromas which otherwise would be lost in the condensed water.

Only juice coming from fresh, not rotten fruit will give a good aroma concentrate. If rotten fruits are used the amount of ethanol in aroma will rapidly increase with consequent degradation of the quality.

To obtain the aromas, the secondary condensates are recovered from the evaporator and sent to the aroma recovery plant.

This plant consists of two main parts: The boiler where the condensates coming from the evaporator are heated to produce vapors , and the fractioning column which split the vapors in aroma concentrate and a poor in aroma stripped liquor. The system concentrates the aroma in a ratio of 1:150—1:200 compared to the feed of condensates. The aroma storage has to be arranged at low temperature.

The storage of the semi-finished fruits products can be done in bag in box of 200 litres volume by the following procedure:

The product is sterilized before packaging by a tube in tube heater for puree, and pulpy products or plate heat exchanger in case of clear or cloudy juices providing that the fibers content is below 5%.

The heating is done via superheated water instead of direct live steam to avoid thermal stress. The tube in tube technology provides uniform and reasonably quick heating because the product flows in a thick film allowing the thermal exchange on “two sides”.

After cooling the sterilized product is sent to a dedicated filler at one or two filling heads depending from the needed output to fill in multiple layer bags in a controlled atmosphere of live steam to avoid any contamination from the ambient.

The fruit juice production process obviously depends on the raw materials and the required final product. employ team of experts in fruit juice production and machine installation. Scientist and nutritionists. Get as much tutorials as you can. This is a big and serious business and should be handled as such.

How to Increase Your Height After 18

Several factors contribute to your overall height. It’s thought that genetic factors account for 60 to 80 percent of your final height. Certain environmental factors, such as nutrition and exercise, typically account for the remaining percentage.

Between age 1 and puberty, most people gain about 2 inches in height each year. Once puberty hits, you may grow at a rate of 4 inches per year. However, everyone grows at a different pace.

For girls, this growth spurt typically begins early in the teenage years. Boys may not experience this sudden increase in height until the end of their teens.

You generally stop growing taller after you go through puberty. This means that as an adult, you are unlikely to increase your height.

However, there are certain things that you can do throughout adolescence to ensure that you’re maximizing your potential for growth. You should continue these as an adult to promote overall well-being and retain your height.

1. Eat a balanced diet
During your growing years, it’s crucial that you get all of the nutrients your body needs.

Your diet should include:

  • fresh fruits
  • fresh vegetables
  • whole grains
  • proteins
  • dairy

You should limit or avoid foods containing:

  • sugar
  • trans fats
  • saturated fats

If an underlying medical condition, or older age, is causing your height to decrease by affecting your bone density, up your calcium intake. It’s often recommended that women over age 50 and men over age 70 should consume 1,200 milligrams (mg) of calcium per day.

Vitamin D also promotes bone health. Common sources of vitamin D include tuna, fortified milk, and egg yolks. If you aren’t getting enough vitamin D in your diet, talk to your doctor about taking a supplement to meet your recommended daily amount.

2. Use supplements with caution
There are only a few cases where supplements may be appropriate to increase height in children and combat shrinking in older adults.

For example, if you have a condition that affects your human growth hormone (HGH) production, your doctor may recommend a supplement containing synthetic HGH.

Additionally, older adults may wish to take vitamin D or calcium supplements to reduce their risk of osteoporosis.

In all other cases, you should avoid supplements with promises about height. Once your growth plates become fused together, there’s no chance that you can increase your height, regardless of what the supplement label advertises.

3. Get the right amount of sleep
Occasionally skimping on sleep won’t affect your height in the long term. But if during adolescence you regularly clock less than the recommended amount, it may lead to complications.

This is because your body releases HGH while you sleep. Production of this hormone and others may go down if you aren’t getting enough shut-eye.

It’s suggested that:

  • Adults ages 18-64 get seven to nine hours
  • Older adults ages 65 and older get seven to eight hours

Getting extra sleep may even increase HGH production, so go ahead and take that power nap.

4. Stay active
Regular exercise has many benefits. It strengthens your muscles and bones, helps you to maintain a healthy weight, and promotes HGH production.

  • Strength-building exercises — such as pushups or situps
  • Flexibility exercises — such as yoga
  • Aerobic activities — such as playing tag, jumping rope, or biking

Exercising as an adult has its benefits, too. In addition to helping you maintain your overall health, it can also help reduce your risk of osteoporosis. This condition occurs when your bones become weak or brittle, resulting in bone density loss. This can cause you to “shrink.”

To reduce your risk, try walking, playing tennis, or practicing yoga several times a week.

5. Practice good posture
Poor posture may make you look shorter than you actually are. And over time, slumping or slouching can also affect your actual height.

Your back should curve naturally in three places. If you regularly slump or slouch, these curves may shift to accommodate your new posture. This can cause pain in your neck and back.

Being mindful of how you stand, sit, and sleep is key. Talk to your doctor about how you can incorporate ergonomics into your daily routine. Depending on your needs, a standing desk or memory foam pillow may be all that’s needed to correct your posture.

You can also practice exercises designed to improve your posture over time. If you’re unsure of where to begin, talk to your doctor. They can help develop an exercise routine that’s right for you.

6. Use yoga to maximize your height
If targeted posture exercises aren’t your thing, give yoga a try. This whole-body practice can strengthen your muscles, align your body, and help with your posture. This will help you stand taller.

You can practice yoga in the comfort of your own home or in a group setting at your local gym or studio. If you aren’t sure where to start, search for a beginner yoga routine on YouTube.

Some popular poses to improve posture include:

  • Mountain Pose
  • Cobra Pose
  • Child’s Pose
  • Warrior II Pose
